Baltimore, MD - The Nebraska men's golf team shot 298 in the third and final round of the Big Ten Championships to place them 12th. The Huskers posted scores of 300 and 292 in the first and second rounds of the tournament, for a total team score of 890. The team moved up two places since Friday's opening round, knocking out Michigan State and Rutgers University.
Illinois took home the team title with a final score of 829, with Northwestern (845), Ohio State (855), Iowa (858), Purdue (858) and Penn State (858) rounding out the top five.
Senior Justin Jennings continued to lead NU the final round of the tournament, shooting a 75 to tie him for 23rd place. Jennings shot a pair of 71's in the first two rounds, for a total score of 217.
Michael Colgate tied for 40th after carding 74 in the third round. The senior shot scores of 75 and 73 in the first two rounds for a cumulative score of 222.
Sophomore Jace Guthmiller fired a 73 to place him in a tie for 48th. Guthmiller shot 76 and 75 the first two days, for a total score of 224.
Tanner Owen tied for 59th with a 54-hole score of 227. The freshman shot rounds of 78, 73, and 76 during the three-day tournament.
Sophomore Jackson Wendling finished in 70th place after posting 81 in the final round. Wendling shot scores of 83 and 81 the first two rounds of the tournament to put him at a total score of 245.
