Baltimore, MD - The Nebraska men's golf team opened the Big Ten Championships with a 300 team score in Friday's first round and sits in 14th place in the team race at Baltimore Country Club. Action at the 7,181- yard, par-70 layout course continues with the second round on Saturday and the third and final round on Sunday.
Illinois leads the team standings after day one at 269, with Ohio State (283), Purdue (284), Northwestern (286) and Penn State (287) rounding out the top five.
The Huskers were led by senior Justin Jennings who fired a one-over par 71 in the opening round. Jennings is tied for 16th place.
Michael Colgate and Jace Guthmiller posted scores of 75 and 76, respectively. Colgate is tied for 42nd, while Guthmiller is tied for 50th.
Freshman Tanner Owen carded 78 and is tied for 61st place.
Jackson Wendling sits in 69th place after shooting 83 in the opening round.
Nebraska will go off the No. 10 tee in Saturday's second round, with the Huskers' tee times from 10:25 to 11:01 a.m. ET.
