Huskers Post Season Bests on Opening Day of Big Ten Championships

West Lafayette, Ind.- On Wednesday, the team got off to an exciting start in the 200-yard medley. Cassandra Brassard, Tori Beeler, Erin Oeltjen and Allie Worrall won the opening heat of the relay in the prelims, and ended up ninth overall in the event. With a time of 1:40.24, this was a season best and the third-fastest time in school history. Brassard's lead off of 25.2 seconds was also a personal best.

In the 800 relay, the Huskers once again found a season best with a time of 7:12.71, which beat their previous time by 15 seconds. The time landed the Big Red in 10th place and secured the No. 4 spot on the all-time Husker list. Leadoff swimmer Flatt also had a personal best with a time of 1:47.80, chopping off 2.2 seconds from her previous personal best and moves her to No. 6 on the Husker all-time list. 

The Huskers will continue competition through Saturday, Feb. 18th.
