Francesca Giganti: Q&A

Favorite animal: My favorite animal is a tea cup pig.

Favorite candy: My favorite candy is mini m&ms or any chocolate!

Celebrity crush: My celebrity crushes are Harry Styles and David Beckham.

Favorite childhood memory: My favorite childhood memories are tied between playing Fear Factor, ultimate fighting or the tripping game with my siblings.

What are your pre-meet rituals? My pre meet rituals include listening to a lot of music, and scrolling through social media constantly. Divers usually see their coach for advice before their turn. I usually do some squat jumps and arm swings to warm up before I go to Natasha when there are about 10 divers ahead of me. Then I visualize and model my dive, take about 80 quick breaths before I get on the board to raise my heart rate, and two big deep slow breaths on the board.

What superpower would you choose? I would like to teleport if that's considered a superpower, that way I could visit family and friends more frequently and never be late to anything!

What is your dream job? My dream career job is still undecided, but I can't wait to be a mom in the far future.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would really love to visit Australia, South Africa and Italy.

What is your fondest diving memory? My fondest diving memory so far has to be re-learning my 407c (Inward 3.5 somersaults on the 10m platform) on training trip in Canada my freshman year. I had no idea I was going to be doing that dive, but my team mates and coach instilled the confidence in me that allowed me to land the dive.

What does success mean to you? Success means doing everything you can to your fullest mental and physical capability to achieve your own personal goals. It means being able to look back at your accomplishments, knowing you did your best no matter the circumstances.
