Colgate Shines in Final Round of Kiawah Classic

Kiawah Island, S.C. - The Nebraska men's golf team carded a 306 in the final round of the Kiawah Classic on Tuesday to them for 13th at 905 strokes. NU posted scores of 302 and 297 in the first two rounds of the tournament. 

Tennessee took home 1st place after shooting a cumulative score of 867.

Senior Michael Colgate fired a 69, the low round of the day, in extremely windy conditions. Colgate opened Sunday with a 75, and carded a 74 on Monday. 

Cameron Jones and Jace Guthmiller tied for 53rd in the Kiawah Classic. Jones carded a final round 76, after a 74 and 79 in the first two rounds of the tournament. Guthmiller shot an 82 on Tuesday, after rounds of 76 and 71.

Sophomore Jackson Wendling tied for 86th place after shooting an 84 on Tuesday. Wendling carded scores of 77 and 74 in the first two rounds of the Kiawah Classic. 

Justin Jennings tied for 91st place at 236 strokes. The senior shot a 79 on Tuesday, after posting rounds of 79 and 78 on Sunday and Monday.

The Nebraska men's golf team is now finished with the fall season and will return in the Spring in February.
