Kiawah Island, S.C. - The Nebraska men’s golf team is tied for 15th after the first round of the Kiawah Classic. The Huskers shot a cumulative team score of 302.
Tennessee is in the lead, shooting a team score of 285.
Leading Nebraska on Sunday was Cameron Jones. The freshman fired a 74 on 18-holes, putting him in a tie for 36th heading into Monday’s round.
Senior Michael Colgate is in a tie for 44th heading into Monday’s round, after shooting a score of 75.
Jace Guthmiller was close behind Colgate, carding a 76 after the first round. The sophomore is tied for 60th.
Sophomore Jackson Wendling posted a 77 on Sunday. Wendling is tied for 67th going into Monday's round.
Justin Jennings is in a tie for 84th, after shooting a score of 79 on Sunday.
Play will resume tomorrow at Turtle Point Golf Course with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
