Pearland, Texas - The Nebraska men’s golf team will be traveling south to Pearland, Texas to play in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, Oct. 10 – 11.
Golfcrest Country Club, a par-72, 7,254-yard layout will play host to the 54-hole tournament.
The Bayou City Collegiate Classic field includes University of Houston, Rice University and Sam Houston State University as hosts, Abilene Christian, Charleston Southern, Houston Baptist, Kansas, Lamar, Little Rock, McNeese State, Texas State, UT Arlington and UTSA.
Action begins Monday, Oct. 10, consisting of 36 holes. Tuesday, Oct. 11, will consist of the final 18 holes. Live scoring will be available on www.golfstatresults.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=11280.
Freshman Cameron Jones, will represent the No. 1 spot in the lineup. Jones tied for 14th individually at Huskers’ last tournament, The Jackrabbit, after firing a 70 the final day.
Jace Guthmiller and Jackson Wendling will play as the Nos. 2 and 3, respectively for the Huskers. Both sophomores tied for 28th individually at The Jackrabbit, carding scores of 220.
Justin Jennings will play in the No. 4 spot. The senior shot a score of 224 over the 54-hole tournament, placing him in a tie for 46th individually.
Senior Michael Colgate will represent the No. 5 spot for the Huskers. Colgate posted a 222 at The Jackrabbit, which tied him for 38th individually.
