Huskers Hop to Eighth at The Jackrabbit

Valentine, Neb. - The Nebraska men's golf team carded a 291 in the final round of The Jackrabbit on Tuesday to claim eighth place. The tournament was hosted at the Prairie Club, a par-72, 7,785-yard layout.

The Huskers shot 882 over the 54-hole tournament, after recording scores of 298 and 293 on Monday. Clemson claimed first place at The Jackrabbit, firing a team score of 847. Due to high winds, the first day of the tournament was cancelled. Play resumed on Monday, making it a 36-hole day for the men. 

Sophomores, Jace Guthmiller and Jackson Wendling tied for 28th, with a score of 220. Guthmiller lead the Huskers in the final round Tuesday, firing a 71 after rounds of 76 and 73 on Monday. Wendling carded a 73 the final day, after shooting scores of 73 and 74.

Michael Colgate tied for 38th, posting a 222 over the 54-hole tournament. The senior shot a 75 in today's final round after posting rounds of 74 and 73 on Monday. 

Justin Jennings shot a 75 Tuesday to tie for 46th individually. Jennings recorded rounds of 75 and 74 on Monday, making for a total of 224 for the senior. 

Sophomore Sean Song fired a 72 on Tuesday, placing him in a tie for 56th. Song posted a 230 over the 54-hole tournament, after shooting scores of 85 and 73 on Monday.

Cameron Jones, whose score counted only individually, carded a 70 the final round. The freshman tied for 14th individually, posting a 216.
