Huskers Tied for Seventh After Windy Day in Valentine

Valentine, Neb. – The Nebraska men’s golf team is tied for seventh at The Jackrabbit after play was halted during the second round due to darkness on Monday at The Prairie Club’s Dunes Course.

The Huskers posted 298 in the first round at the par-72, 7,785-yard layout. The second round will resume on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. (CT). The final round is also set for Tuesday after the completion of the second round.

Michael Colgate opened with 2-over-par 74 and is even-par in his second round thru 15 holes. His 2-over-par total for the tournament puts him in a tie for 22nd entering the final day.

Jackson Wendling is tied for 28th after carding rounds of 73 and 74 on Monday. Cameron Jones, who is playing as an individual outside of the NU lineup, is also tied for 28th. Jones fired 71 in his first round and is 4-over-par thru 12 holes in his second round.

Jace Guthmiller and Justin Jennings are tied for 40th. Guthmiller is 5-over-par for the tournament after an opening-round 76. Jennings shot rounds of 75 and 74.

Sean Song is in 63rd place at 14-over-par. Song opened with 85, and is 1-over-par thru 15 holes in his second round at The Prairie Club’s Dunes Course.
