Huskers Ready to Continue Momentum at Northwestern

Lincoln, Neb.—The Nebraska football team practiced in shorts and helmets for approximately 90 minutes on Thursday on the grass fields outside the Hawks Championship Center. Head Coach Mike Riley addressed the media afterward.

Riley said he is hoping that Alonzo Moore will be available to play this weekend after nursing a shoulder injury all week, but he remains questionable. He stated that the team was in pretty good shape injury-wise and "Brandon (Reilly) looks good, he's practiced and lasted, he looks like he's playing."

"We're trying to make it as much of a regular routine as we possibly can," Riley said about the first away game of the season. "I love going to new places and I like taking teams to play somewhere else. It's exciting to take a team into another team's stadium."

"It's really hard," Riley said of making the travel roster. "Especially when you're pretty healthy, and we've been dressing 90 or more guys and the last couple choices were difficult and not made until just after lunch today."

Riley also commented on the strong performance of kicker Drew Brown this season, despite Brown having just one field goal attempt in non-conference play.

"I think he's just kicked so well, really confident in him. I think he's poised for a great year," Riley said. "He's been very strong, kicked a lot of touchbacks and when we do have to kick a field goal we feel really good about him."

Kickoff in Evanston, Ill., is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will air on nationally BTN.
