Huskers Within Striking Distance at Ram Masters Invitational

Fort Collins, Colo. - The Husker men's golf team sits in sixth place at the Ram Masters Invitational after shooting a team score of 572 for the day.

Michael Colgate lead the team with a score of 138 at the Fort Collins Country Club, a par-70, 7,218 yard layout. The senior sits in seventh after firing a score of 70, and finishing the day with a 68. 

Sophomore Sean Song shot a 144 the first day of the tournament, and sits in a tie for 24th. Song carded a 71 the first round, and a 73 the second round.

Cameron Jones is tied for 27th after shooting a 145. The freshman shot a 71 the first 18-holes, and finished the second with a score of 74.

Sophomore Jace Guthmiller and freshman Tanner Owen are tied for 49th after both carding 148. Guthmiller fired two consistent rounds of 74. Owen shot a 71 the first round, and finished the day with a 77.

Wichita State and the Air Force Academy are tied for first after both carding a team score of 563. 

The Huskers will play 18 holes tomorrow to finish the 54-hole tournament. Tee times for the final round begin tomorrow, Sept. 20th, at 8:00 a.m. (MT) Live scoring is available on www.GolfStatResults.com.
