Madison, Wis. – The Nebraska men’s golf team matched a school record with its 276 in the final round of the Badger Invitational on Tuesday, placing the team in seventh overall. The Huskers scored better than all other teams in the field in the final round.
Michael Colgate, a senior at Nebraska, tied for third after carding a 68 on the final day.
Senior Justin Jennings and sophomore Sean Song made exceptional comebacks today, both firing rounds of 69. Song tied for 38th in tournament, while Jennings tied for 64th.
Sophomore Jace Guthmiller carded a low individual score of 70.
Freshman Tanner Owen also fired his lowest round of the tournament today, shooting a 71.
The Huskers came back as a team, and as individuals the final day of the Badger Invitational. Each of the men scored their lowest rounds individually the final day of the tournament.
NU received seventh place with an overall team score of 871. Iowa State captured first place by 10 shots, shooting 852 for the 54-hole tournament.
