Nebraska's Erin Oeltjen raced to a lifetime best in the 200 backstroke at the U.S. Open Swimming Championships at the Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis on Wednesday.
The junior from Omaha won the bonus final to finish 17th overall in the 200 back in an all-time best time of 2:15.04.
Oeltjen is scheduled to conclude her participation in the U.S. Open with the 100 backstroke on Friday in Minneapolis. The meet continues at the Freeman Aquatic Center through Saturday.
