On what he’s working on to be the ultimate guy in the backfield
“[I’m] focusing on being more of a student of the game this summer. Watched a lot of film, pretty much watched every play of the season and in the spring. Just finding out different ways on how I can read defenses better and just improving different aspects of my game.”

On this team’s hunger
“This team’s definitely hungry. We definitely want to be able to go out and win games this year. That’s our biggest goal and I feel like we’ve all bought in this spring and in the summer.”

On what the bowl game did for the running game
“It did a lot. Obviously, to win games, you want to be able to establish the run game and that’s one of the things we did in the bowl game and towards the later part of the season, so we definitely want to be able to pick up where we left there.”

On the offensive line
"I feel pretty good about them. They definitely picked up during the spring and you can see it when they start to gel and get better at things, so I’m excited to go out there and see how they work.”

On taking on a vocal role
“Being one of the oldest guys in the room, you kind of have to [be vocal] sometimes. I kind of like to lead by example, but as a senior sometimes you have to take that vocal role and I feel like that’s one of the things we talked about as a senior group, holding everybody accountable and you get that across the board, not just seniors, from freshmen all the way up, we keep each other accountable. That’s just one of the things we’ve been doing this spring and summer.”

On the transition to football after Sam Foltz’s death
“We’re playing through Sam, and the whole season is dedicated towards him. It brought us together a lot. We’re here for each other.”

On fellow running back Mikale Wilbon
“He’s put in a lot of work in the spring and the summer. He’s a great runner, he’s a real smart runner, too. The work that he’s putting in this summer, he’ll be able to show off.”

On all of the running backs
“I feel like we can all be able to contribute and all be utilized in different ways, me Devine [Ozigbo] and Mikale [Wilbon] and all the other guys in the room also. I feel like we’ll be able to be utilized and I fieel like we’ll be able to help the team in different ways.”

On how many touches he wants per game
“My biggest thing is winning games really. However that is, if it means me getting the ball 30 times a game or less, 10 times a game. I definitely want to contribute any ways possible.”

On how excited he is with so many scoring weapons
“It’s very exciting. We know it. We’ve talked about it. We definitely have players that can be utilized all of ther field from receiver corps, running backs, especially how the offensive line is coming, we’re really excited to go out and make plays. [Then you throw Tommy Armstrong Jr. in the mix and] it’s awesome. He’s been gelling this spring and summer and I’m excited to see him go out and work.”

On how the talent at receiver will help the running backs
“[It will open the door for us]. Each one of them is a threat, downfield, short passes, no matter what, so I feel like we can definitely be able to pick up on the running game from there.”

On if he sees himself catching more passes
“I definitely want to be utilized in the passing game in any way possible.”
