Nebraska track and field javelin thrower Sarah Firestone advanced to the final of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Thursday night in Eugene, Ore.
Firestone finished seventh in qualifying with a distance of 175-4 (53.44) on her first attempt. The top 12 throwers advanced to Saturday's final, and the top three from that round will head to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August with the U.S. Olympic Team.
Saturday's javelin final will begin at 6 p.m. (CT). The event will be streamed live on the NBC Sports Extra app and online.
