Ukaoma Selected to Nigeria's Olympic Team

Former Nebraska track and field hurdler Miles Ukaoma was selected to Nigeria's 2016 Olympic Games roster on Tuesday.

Ukaoma will represent Nigeria in the 400-meter hurdles in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He joins high jumper Marusa Cernjul (Slovenia) as former Husker track and field athletes headed to the Olympics.

Ukaoma won the 400-meter hurdles national title in 2014 and was a three-time Big Ten champion in the event. His collegiate best of 49.23 ranks second in NU history. Ukaoma owns a lifetime best of 48.84 set in July 2015.

Nebraska track and field will have had at least two athletes at each of the past four summer Olympics, dating back to 2004.
