Lorentz Earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar

Alexandrea Lorentz, a senior on the 2015-16 Nebraska rifle team, was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for her academic success during the 2015-16 school year. This is Lorentz’s second consecutive year earning the award.

Lorentz, who graduated in May 2016 with degrees in political science and sociology, was the only member of the rifle team to earn the honor this year. The Anchorage, Alaska, native has been a stellar representative in the classroom during her entire career at Nebraska. In addition to her Big Ten Distinguished Scholar awards, Lorentz earned Academic All-Big Ten in 2015 and 2016 and is a six-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

As a senior on the rifle team, Lorentz helped the Huskers to a fourth consecutive NCAA Championships appearance, where the team finished eighth overall.
