Iowa City, Iowa – The Nebraska men’s golf team is in 10th place at the Hawkeye Invitational after the first day of action at Finkbine Golf Course on Saturday.
The Huskers opened with 292 at the par-72, 7,239-yard layout before carding a second-round 302. Kansas leads the team competition at 573, while Iowa State and Kansas State are tied for second at 577.
Jace Guthmiller led NU on Saturday with 147 over two rounds. He is tied for 22nd individually after firing 70 in the first round and 77 in the second round.
Mike Colgate and Jackson Wendling are each tied for 34th at 149. Colgate opened with 75 before a second-round 74. Wendling also shot rounds of 74 and 75.
Justin Jennings fired 73 and 79 for a 36-hole total of 152. He is tied for 54th, 12 strokes ahead of Sean Song. Song carded 88 and 76 on Saturday.
