Distance Squad Competes at KT Woodman Classic

The Nebraska track and field team got the weekend started on Friday night as some members of the distance squad took part in the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, Kan.

Haley Harsin won the 800 meters for the Husker women with a time of 2:17.26. Katrina Santiago took third in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 11:03.39. Kendall Cast was ninth in the women's 10,000 meters (38:58.53). 

On the men's side, Patrick Letz placed seventh in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:54.19. Nolan Border led the men in the 1,500 meters with a seventh-place finish (3:59.49). Trent Classen was 10th in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase, posting a time of 10:22.25.

The Huskers continue competition on Saturday with most of the team at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas, while a handful of athletes will compete at the UNK Loper Invitational in Kearney.
