The Nebraska men’s golf team continues its spring season on Monday and Tuesday at Chambers Bay Golf Course, site of the 2015 U.S. Open, in University Place, Wash., for the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational presented by OGIO.
The Huskers will be making their first appearance in the event, which is in its third year. NU is one of 16 teams who will tee it up at Chambers Bay.
Monday’s action will consist of 36 holes, starting at 10 a.m. CT (8 a.m. PT). Tuesday’s final round is set to start at 10 a.m. CT. Live scoring will be available on BirdieFire.com.
Junior Mike Colgate will represent the No. 1 spot for the Huskers in Washington. Colgate leads the team in stroke average (73.27) and is one of three Huskers to tee it up for every tournament this season. The other two, Justin Jennings and Sean Song, will play in the No. 2 and No. 4 positions, respectively.
Freshman Jackson Wendling will be Nebraska’s No. 3 golfer at Chambers Bay. Wendling has a 74.95 stroke average over 19 rounds this season. Freshman Jace Guthmiller rounds out the NU lineup. Freshman Dylan McCabe will play as an individual in the event.
