LINCOLN, Neb. - The fourth season of Nebraska beach volleyball begins on Wednesday with the first home match in school history.
The Huskers will host Missouri Baptist at the Hawks Championship Center sand court, where the Huskers practice. The match begins at 3 p.m. but is closed to the public because of space limitations.
The evening will consist of six doubles matches. The No. 6 matchup at 3 p.m. will be exhibition, while the final five matches will determine the team winner in a best-of-five format. Each doubles match is a best of three. The first two sets are played to 21 and the third set, if necessary, is played to 15.
After Wednesday's match, the season resumes in Hawaii and California next week during the Huskers' spring break.
Nebraska is ranked 12th in the DiG Magazine preseason poll. The Huskers made huge strides in 2015, posting a 6-2 record with both losses coming to the top-two ranked teams in the nation.
