Percy Earns B1G Field Athlete of the Week

Nebraska track and field sophomore Nick Percy was named the Big Ten Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

Percy, a native of Ventnor, England, won the hammer throw title with a school record and also won the discus title at the Pac-12/Big Ten Invitational at Arizona State over the weekend.

Percy's hammer throw mark of 221-8 (67.56 meters) broke his previous personal best by 14 feet and now ranks No. 8 in the nation. He surpassed Will Lohman's school record of 216-2 (65.89 meters) that was set last year. Percy went on to win the discus as well with the best throw in the Big Ten and seventh-best throw nationally this season: 189-11 (57.89 meters).
