Filipcic Wraps Up Season at NCAA Championships

Atlanta, Ga.- Anna Filipcic wrapped up her week at the NCAA Championships, on Friday, at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center with a 47th-place finish in the three-meter dive.

In the three-meter dive Filipcic posted a score of 246.30, giving her a 47th-place finish in the event. Filipcic notched a 10th-place finish yesterday in the one-meter dive.

Filipcic was the first Husker to score at the NCAA Championships since Lauren Bailey in 2006. Filipcic’s performance also earned her Honorable-Mention All-American honors, the first to do so since Lauren Bailey in 2006.

On the season Filipcic racked up 19 top-five finishes, including 15 victories. At the 2016 Big Ten Championships, she notched a 2nd-place finish in the one-meter dive, giving her second-team All-Big Ten honors. Filipcic’s performance at the Big Ten Championships was also good enough to set a new school record in the one-meter dive. She also set a new school-record in the three-meter dive earlier in the season against Illinois.
