Filipcic Claims All-American Honors at NCAA Championships

Atlanta, Ga.- Anna Filipcic claimed 10th-place in the one-meter dive, completing her first day of competition at the NCAA Championships on Thursday at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.

Filipcic posted a score of 294.70 during the prelims of the one-meter dive, giving her the 12th-best score and a spot in the consolation finals. Filipcic moved up two spots to 10th-place after the consolation finals, recording a score of 310.60, just .1 points shy of claiming first-place in the consolation final.

Filipcic is the first Husker to score at the NCAA Championships since Lauren Bailey in 2006. Her performance also earns Filipcic Honorable-Mention All-American honors, also the first to do so since Lauren Bailey in 2006.

Filipcic will compete in the three-meter dive on the second day of the NCAA Championships. Preliminaries are set to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, with finals beginning at 5 p.m. (ESPN3 live stream). Check back in to Huskers.com for updates.
