Nebraska diver Anna Filipcic travels to Atlanta, Ga., for the 2016 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships held March 16-19. This marks the third consecutive season Filipcic has qualified for the Championships. Filipcic was the lone Husker to qualify for the meet.
Filipcic, a junior from Omaha, Neb., has tallied 19 top-five finishes this season, including 15 event titles. At the 2016 Big Ten Championships, Filipcic earned second-place in the one-meter dive and a ninth-place finish in the three-meter dive. Filipcic has also set career-bests in both the one- and three-meter dives this season. Filipcic set a new career-best in the one-meter dive at the 2016 Big Ten Championships, while her career-best in the three-meter dive came at a dual-meet against Illinois.
Filipcic qualified for the NCAA meet after finishing ninth in the three-meter dive and fifth in the one-meter dive at the Zone D Diving Meet last week in College Station, Texas. She will compete in both the one- and three-meter dives, held Thursday and Friday at the meet.
The 2016 NCAA Championships begin with preliminaries at 9 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m. each day. ESPN3 will live stream finals on Friday and Saturday evening. Live results will be available on NCAA.com. Check back in to Huskers.com for updates.
