Husker Pair Claims All-America Honors

Senior Denise Martin and junior Rachel Martin earned All-America honors for their tremendous efforts  on the rifle range this season.

Both Huskers claimed second-team honors from the NRA in smallbore. R. Martin was also named a CRCA honorable mention (combined).

D. Martin, a Chewelah, Wash., native earned All-America honors for the third consecutive season, finishing her career with a total of four All-America awards. D. Martin fired career-best scores in both smallbore (589) and air rifle this season (593), capping off a very successful career as a Husker.

R. Martin clinched her sixth and seventh All-America honors. The Peralta, N.M., native tallied a season-high air rifle score of 596 and a personal-best score of 589 in smallbore this season.

The pair led the Huskers to their fourth consecutive NCAA Championships on March 11-12, where the team finished eighth.
