Nebraska (15-17, 6-12 Big Ten) broke its five-game losing streak with an 89-72 victory over Rutgers on Wednesday in the Huskers’ tournament opener. Shavon Shields led NU with 20 points and a season-high 11 rebounds to pace five Huskers in double figures, as NU used a 17-2 second-half run to pull away.

Nebraska now turns its attention to a Wisconsin team which is 20-11 on the season and won 11 of its past 13 games. The Badgers won the only regular-season meeting, 72-61, on Feb. 10, although Shields missed the game with a concussion.
