Stephenson Earns Second B1G Freshman Honor

Freshman Anton Stephenson claimed his second Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Week award.  The Fishers, Ind., native finished with five top-ten finishes, including four in the top five, against Iowa and Penn State on Feb. 27.  He helped the Nebraska men's gymnastics post a team total of 423.30 at the triangular meet.

Stephenson was the top performer for the Huskers on vault and parallel bars.  He took fourth on vault and tied for third on parallel bars, earning a 14.80 and 14.70 respectively. Stephenson's floor score (14.90) tied him for fifth place on the event. On pommel horse, the freshman posted a 13.55, tying for tenth overall. In the all-around, Stephenson took third with a score of 84.20.

Stephenson is the only Husker men's gymnast to win Big Ten Freshman of the Week in the history of the program. He previously won the award the week of Jan. 25, 2016.
