Game Notes
Nebraska won its 10th game of the season...MJ Knighten hit her eighth home run in the first 12 games...Knighten has matched her home run total from last year (58 games)...Kaylan Jablonski hit her second home run of the year after hitting one home run as a freshman...Cassie McClure threw a career-high 7.0 innings, going more than 5.0 innings for the first time in her career.

Cathedral City, Calif. - MJ Knighten and Kaylan Jablonski each homered to power the Nebraska softball team to a 3-1 victory over San Diego State in the Huskers' lone game Saturday at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

Knighten gave Nebraska a 1-0 lead with a first-inning solo home run. After San Diego State tied the game in the top of the third, Jablonski put Nebraska back on top with a solo shot in the bottom of the fourth inning. Knighten then added an RBI double in the fifth to account for the final 3-1 margin.

While Knighten and Jablonski paced the Husker offense, junior Cassie McClure was outstanding in the circle. McClure (5-1) threw a complete game, going 7.0 innings for the first time in her career. She scattered seven hits and surrendered only one run, while striking out four.

With the win, Nebraska moved to 10-2 on the season. San Diego State, which has advanced to eight consecutive NCAA Tournaments, fell to 9-4. The Huskers handed Aztec ace Eric Romero her first loss of the season. Romero (5-1) allowed three runs on four hits in 4.2 innings.

Nebraska wraps up action at the Mary Nutter Classic on Sunday with at 11 a.m. (Central).
