Collura Set to Compete at Last Chance Meet

The Nebraska swimming and diving team sends Taryn Collura to the University of Georgia's Last Chance Meet in Athens, Ga., this weekend to try and earn a spot at the NCAA Championships.

Preliminary sessions will begin at 9 a.m. on both Saturday, Feb. 27, and Sunday, Feb. 28. Saturday's finals will commence at 4 p.m., while Sunday's will start at 3 p.m. 

Collura is looking for a return trip to the NCAA Championships after competing at the national meet in 2013. The senior will swim the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyles, looking for NCAA A-cut times of 21.86 and 47.79. Collura competed in both 50- and 100-yard freestyles at the 2016 Big Ten Championships and swam a season best of 22.51 in the 50-yard freestyle and a career-best of 48.91 in the 100-yard freestyle. 

Collura will face athletes from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Davidson, Duke, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida State, Gardner Webb, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, South Carolina, Southern Illinois, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Yale.
