The Nebraska beach volleyball team will open the season in March as the 12th-ranked team by DiG Magazine, the same spot the Huskers finished the 2015 season.
The Huskers will start the season with a closed match against Missouri Baptist on Wednesday, March 9 at the Hawks Championship Center sand court, where the Huskers practice.
NU is scheduled to play dual matches this season against No. 2 Pepperdine, No. 3 Hawaii and No. 4 Long Beach State. Nebraska will also be in a pairs tournament with No. 1 USC and No. 14 Loyola Marymount.
The Huskers made huge strides in 2015, posting a 6-2 record with both losses coming to the top-two ranked teams in the nation (USC and Hawaii). NU was close to pulling off the upset on No. 1 Hawaii, taking the match down to the final pair. The Huskers won their final six matches to finish No. 12 in the DiG Magazine Poll.
