The No. 8 Nebraska rifle team begins postseason competition this weekend when it travels to Murray, Ky., on Feb. 21 for the NCAA Qualifiers, beginning at 9 a.m.
The Huskers finished the regular season 8-6, including winning the last three matches over Ohio State, Ole Miss and Navy.
Nebraska will be joined at its competition site by Murray State, Memphis and the University of Tennessee at Martin. Scores from the qualifying match, along with the top three scores posted during the regular season at three different locations will be averaged to decide the final qualifying score. All teams will be ranked using that score. The top eight teams will advance to the NCAA Championships on March 11 in Akron, Ohio.
The Huskers have qualified for the NCAA Championships for three consecutive seasons, most recently finishing fourth at the 2015 NCAA Championships in Fairbanks, Alaska. Individually, Rachel Martin took home the 2015 smallbore title.
The team is currently ranked eighth and hopes to put on an impressive performance on Sunday to maintain its spot in the top eight and return to the NCAA Championships.
