Huskers Hold Steady on Day Two in Houston

Houston - The second-ranked Nebraska bowling team compiled a 5-0 record Saturday in five traditional matches at the SFA Stormin' Ladyjack Classic in Houston and sit in second place after two days of competition with an average of 204.7.

Melanie Crawford led the Huskers (68-24) with a 217.8 average, good for fourth overall. Briana Zabierek joined her in the top five, finishing fifth with an average of 217.2.

NU recorded victories over third-ranked Vanderbilt, No. 14 LIU-Brooklyn, No. 4 Sam Houston State, No. 7 Wisconsin-Whitewater and Grambling State during Saturday's competition.

The Huskers will face top-seeded North Carolina A&T in the first round of the best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament, with play set to begin at 8:30 a.m. The winner of that match will be guaranteed a spot in the championship match.
