The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team is ranked sixth in this week’s national rankings and moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week’s coaches poll.
Seven Huskers rank in the top 20 as well, including two in the top 10. Senior, Ethan Lottman is the highest ranked Husker for the third week in a row, coming in at No. 5 in the pommel horse rankings. Kyle King joins Lottman in the top 10. The sophomore from Mesquite, Texas, is ranked ninth on floor.
Other Huskers in the top 20 include:
Austin Epperson - 11th on floor
Jordan King - 13th on pommel horse
Daniel Leal - 16th on parallel bars, 19th in the all-around
Connor Adamsick - 20th on floor
Sam Chamberlain - 20th on parallel bars
The team last competed on Feb. 6, facing No. 1 Oklahoma. Despite falling to the top-ranked Sooners, the Huskers (5-4, 0-1) posted the second-highest score in school history (428.700). Additionally, the Huskers had three top-three individual finishes against the Sooners. Lottman, finished second on pommel horse with a score of (14.75). Fellow senior, Sam Chamberlain tied for third on vault with his career-high score of 15.05. Freshman, Anton Stephenson, claimed second in the all-around after finishing with 85.75.
The Huskers are off until Feb. 27 when the team travels to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes. In the meantime, select members of the team will compete at the Winter Cup in Las Vegas on Feb. 18 and Feb. 20.
