Lincoln - The Big Ten Network announced its wildcard selections for women's basketball for the weekend of Feb. 20-21, and Nebraska will face Purdue on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. on BTN.
All of Nebraska's published schedules had listed the Purdue game as Feb. 20 or 21, while multiple TV networks made their decisions for men's and women's basketball games for that weekend.
Nebraska, which defeated then-Big Ten co-leader Purdue, 62-61, at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind., on Jan. 20, will play host to the rematch against the Boilermakers at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Big Red and the Boilermakers have been involved in some epic battles as Big Ten foes, including a 93-89 triple overtime win by the Huskers in the first-ever meeting on Feb. 2, 2012.
A 74-70 double-overtime loss by Nebraska to Purdue in the 2012 Big Ten Championship Game, was followed by a 69-66 overtime loss to Purdue in the first-ever meeting between the two schools in Lincoln (Devaney Center) on Jan. 5, 2013.
The Huskers also suffered a 77-75 setback to the Boilermakers in the first meeting between the two teams at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Jan. 19, 2014.
Purdue leads the all-time series with Nebraska, 5-3, with five of the eight games decided by four points or less, including three overtime games with a total of six overtime periods.
The Huskers own back-to-back series wins, including a 69-59 victory last year at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Nebraska and Purdue enter this weekend's Big Ten action with identical 15-5 overall and 6-3 Big Ten records, tied for fourth place in the 14-team conference standings.
