Q&A with Ryan Irick

What would you do with a time machine? "I would go back in time and attend a Pink Floyd concert."

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? "To know everything about everything."

Favorite movie? "Toss up between Interstellar and Shawshank Redemption"

Favorite food/restaurant? "Creme Brûlée/ Cracker Barrel"

Ryan Irick is one of the top pommel horse and still rings competitors on the 2016 Nebraska men's gymnastics team. The senior from Wichita, Kan., competed in both events at the 2015 NCAA Championships for the Huskers. He also has been a standout in the classroom for the Big Red throughout his career. He is a three-time Collegiate Gymnastics Association Scholar-Athlete, a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and a three-time academic All-Big Ten selection as a pre-med major at Nebraska. 

Ryan took time out of his hectic schedule to answer a few questions to provide some insight into his life outside of the gym.

Favorite band/song? "Pink Floyd/Stairway to Heaven"

Favorite animal? "Sloths"

Favorite holiday? "Halloween"

If you could have dinner with three people that ever lived (dead or alive) who would it be?
"David Gilmour, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Stephen Hawking"

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
"The Black Forest in Germany"

Favorite ice cream flavor? "Pumpkin + Eggnog"

Biggest pet peeve? "People making mountains out of mole hills"

What’s something most people don’t know about you? "I hate swimming."
