Huskers Ranked No. 11

The Nebraska men’s gymnastics team was picked 11th in the first Coaches’ Poll of the regular season, released on Jan. 11  by the College Gymnastics Association (CGA).

Oklahoma is ranked No. 1 after finishing first at the 2015 NCAA Championships and claiming its ninth team title. Big Ten teams occupy three of the top five spots. Ohio State ranks No. 2, while Illinois and Michigan rank fourth and fifth respectively. Stanford, who was the runner-up at the 2015 NCAA Championships, holds the No. 3 spot.

All seven Big Ten teams are ranked in the poll. Penn State is ranked sixth and Minnesota ranks No. 8. Iowa occupies the ninth spot.

The Huskers return three All-Americans to the 2016 lineups. Grant Perdue returns after suffering a season-ending injury in 2015, along with fellow seniors, Sam Chamberlain and Ethan Lottman. Perdue captured All-America honors on floor in 2012 and vault in 2013 and barely missed the honors in the 2014 season. Chamberlain captured All-America honors on parallel bars in 2013, while Lottman earned the honor on pommel horse in 2015, after finishing fifth on the event at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
