Eleven Husker Soccer Players Earn Academic All-Big Ten Honors

The Nebraska soccer team produced 11 Academic All-Big Ten selections for 2015 when the conference announced its list of honorees on Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Jaylyn Odermann, Caroline Flynn and Katie Kraeutner each collected honors from the conference for the third time. Odermann, a communication studies major, also earned second-team All-Big Ten accolades for her performance on the field in 2015. Flynn and Kraeutner were each named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for the second consecutive year.

Sydney Miramontez and Courtney Claassen each garnered Academic All-Big Ten honors for the second time. Miramontez and Claassen are both majoring in advertising and public relations.

First-time selections to the list include Lia Baldo, Brooks Brennan, Haley Hanson, Amanda Hilton, Erika Johnson and Alli Peterson.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
