Huskers Set Sights on Scarlet Knights

Lincoln - Coach Mike Riley and the Huskers met the media Monday at Memorial Stadium to turn their attention to Saturday's game at Rutgers.

Kickoff between the Huskers (4-6, 2-4 Big Ten) and the Scarlet Knights (3-6, 1-5 Big Ten) is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, with national television coverage provided by BTN. The game will mark Nebraska's first-ever true road game to Rutgers and their first appearance at High Point Solutions Stadium in New Brunswick, N.J. Nebraska has not played a game in the state of New Jersey since defeating West Virginia 31-0 in the 1994 Kickoff Classic at the Meadowlands.

The Big Red is coming off their biggest win of the season, a 39-38 victory over AP No. 6 Michigan State on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Junior quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after completing 19-of-33 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns. He added a pair of touchdown runs to have a hand in four touchdowns, as the Huskers overcame a 38-26 fourth-quarter deficit to knock off the previously unbeaten Spartans. His 30-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Reilly with 17 seconds left gave the Huskers the win.

Armstrong's favorite target throughout the season has been Jordan Westerkamp, who leads the Huskers with 801 receiving yards on the year. Westerkamp had nine catches for 143 yards against the Spartans, including two huge catches covering 61 yards on the winning drive against Michigan State.
