Alonzo Moore
Junior, Wide Receiver
On fellow wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp’s resiliency
“He’s a tough guy. I knew that from the beginning. I’ve watched him go through a lot of pain but he’s a tough guy.”

On his soreness Sunday
“I wasn’t too sore. I just was after the game. I was really sore. I wasn’t able to take off my jersey or anything. It was hurting really bad but Sunday morning, it wasn’t so bad.”

On how much Saturday changes the season
“It’s huge. Also to defend my home turf. To have a team come in like that ranked in the top 10 and knock them off, it was huge. That gave us a huge momentum jump and it gave us a lot of confidence. Like I said last week, when we come out and play our best ball and focus on us, great things will happen. All we have to do is execute.”

On if he thought Brandon Reilly got pushed out
“I don’t even recall. I just recall him scoring the touchdown. I don’t even want to look at it. I just know we scored. I have no part in looking at that.”

On if the call was reversed
“Bad. I would’ve been really mad, too. It would’ve been bad. I don’t even think about if they did call it. He scored, they called it and we won.”

On taking shots down the field
“We knew coming in that we just had to take a couple shots, we had to beat them deep. Keep trying and keep trying no matter what. We got some pass interference and we didn’t but we kept trying. We came up big we it really mattered.”

On attitude toward referees this year
“I didn’t do too much complaining because coming in the game, Coach Williams, our receivers coach always told us, ‘don’t worry about the call and just try to make the play.’ The play that I had where he hooked my arm, I tried to get it out but didn’t. I’m a football player and the referee is a referee. He makes the calls. There’s nothing I can do about it.”

On how the receivers have improved this year in one on one jump balls
“We work on it in practice. Coach Keith Williams puts us through individual drills working on that. Playing the deep ball, playing aggressive whenever because we know that anytime, any moment of the game, you may have those balls where it’s not perfect but you have to adjust to it and work on it well.”

On how to keep the momentum going
“We just have to stay focused, stay humble. Saturday is over with. It’s a new week, it’s a new team. We just have to move on. We have to focus on us more than anything.”
