As part of the Veterans Day/Military Salute at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, the U.S. Marines will be collecting toys for children at Saturday’s game with Michigan State.
Husker fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to the game, and cash donations for the cause will also be accepted. The Marines will be stationed near gates at Memorial Stadium to accept donations that will brighten the holiday season for needy children.
The Nebraska football Toys for Tots collection will be one of three co-sponsored by the Athletics Department at Husker events in November. The volleyball Toys for Tots event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 18 (vs. Indiana), while the wrestling Toys for Tots night will be on Saturday, Nov. 21 (Wyoming).
The men’s and women’s basketball teams will also have Toys for Tots drives at December home games. Collections of toys will occur at the Dec. 6 women's home game against Creighton and the Dec. 22 men's game against Prairie View A&M.
