On the outlook of his injury
“It’s kind of hard to tell right now, but no part of me is giving up. I’m going to do whatever I can to get back on Saturday.”

On the injuries at receiver, with Alonzo Moore and De’Mornay Pierson-El being injured as well
“Obviously [them being out] plays a hand in [wanting to get back to playing], but me personally, I don’t want to miss any games. All the work we put in in the offseason, we only get a certain amount of games and I’m not trying to miss any.”

On the challenges Michigan State’s defense poses
“It will definitely be tough, but also a challenge that we like to look forward to. A lot of pressure is going to be on us. I know they have a tremendous defensive line everyone says, so its’ going to come out to the perimeter probably more. In our role especially, we look forward to it. We want the pressure on our hands so we’re excited for it.”

On two of the three remaining opponents being unbeaten
“That definitely helps. Our year hasn’t turned out the way we expected, so we might as well go out there and try to knock off a couple top teams and spoil someone else’s season.”

On getting quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. back
“It definitely will help. His game experience and command in the huddle, just little things like that. Obviously he’s one of the biggest competitors on the team, so that can never hurt getting a guy like that back. A lot of guys are nicked up and hopefully when Saturday rolls around we have most of the guys out there.”

On wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp’s big numbers against Purdue
“I expect it of Jordan. Everyday he’s first in the meeting room, he’s always watching film, telling me things to look for, he’s always in the playbook asking questions when needed. He acts like a professional and it shows out there on game day.”
