Husker fans got their first look at the 2015-16 Huskers Thursday evening as both programs hosted Nebraska Basketball Live at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The first half of the event featured a pair of short scrimmages. In the opener, freshman Johnny Trueblood’s floater with under 10 seconds left lifted the Red team to a 22-21 victory. In the second scrimmage, Anton Gill and Jake Hammond combined for 10 of 12 points as the White team posted a 12-9 win in a game that was shortened to eight minutes.
The event’s festivities also included a skills contest which featured the Husker women and a Red Zone member, a 3-point shooting contest and autograph sessions with both programs.
The Huskers open the 2015-16 season on Monday, Nov. 9, as the Huskers host Northern State. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be carried on the Husker Sports Network and on the Big Ten Digital Network.
