Nebraska has eight wrestlers ranked in InterMat’s preseason weight-by-weight rankings, released on Tuesday.
Senior Jake Sueflohn garnered the highest ranking by a Husker with the No. 6 spot at 149 pounds. Sueflohn, a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier, missed the 2014-15 season with a torn ACL. He is one of five Huskers who earned top-10 spots in the preseason poll.
Returning NCAA qualifiers Anthony Abidin (141), Austin Wilson (165) and Aaron Studebaker (197) are each ranked seventh in their respective weight classes. Abidin and Studebaker each advanced to the Round of 12 at last year’s NCAA Championships.
All-American TJ Dudley is ranked ninth at 184 pounds. The junior from Irmo, S.C. finished eighth at the 2015 NCAA Championships after a 31-11 season.
Additional Huskers ranked by InterMat include Tim Lambert (No. 12 at 125), Eric Montoya (No. 12 at 133) and Collin Jensen (No. 13 at heavyweight). All three of them are two-time NCAA qualifiers, with Montoya advancing to the Round of 12 last season.
