Buelt Named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week

Caroline Buelt received Big Ten Co-Freshman-of-the-Week honors on Tuesday.

Buelt scored her first career goal on Thursday night against No. 24 Northwestern. Her goal, which occurred in the 15th minute, proved to be the game winner in a 1-0 victory on the road. The Polk City, Iowa native took four shots, two of which were on goal, in 55 minutes of action against the Wildcats.

On Sunday, Buelt played 45 minutes in Nebraska’s 3-1 loss against Illinois. She has started 12 games this season and made appearances in all 15 during her first year at Nebraska.

The Huskers remain on the road this week, as they face Iowa on Friday at 7 p.m. (CT) in Iowa City, Iowa. NU’s final home game is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 28 against Maryland at 7:05 p.m.
