Senior Quaterback Joel Stave
On the the reaction when Wisconsin missed its first field goal try of the fourth quarter
"Well as soon as we saw him miss it we looked up at the clock and there was [1:26], and we had three timeouts so I knew they would run the ball and we would stop them and call our time outs and we would get another chance. So as soon as we saw him miss it was just 'alright, we could get another shot at this.'"
On the last drive
"Yeah that was fun. You know it was a drill that we work a lot. I think Troy (Fumagalli) was able to make some big plays and Jazz (Peavy) made that huge play for us so just being able to get ourselves down there and have another opportunity to kick."
On winning a big game
"The fact that we have had a lot of guys who had played in big games and a lot of close games like that, that helps a lot. You know, there is no panic on the sidelines from the offense or the defense. We have a lot of guys who have played a lot of football. We just have confident guys who believed we could win."
On if everyone is comfortable with their jobs
"Yeah I think everyone was comfortable with their jobs and knows what it's supposed to be. There are always little things here and there, and on the sidelines we talk about it. But for the most part everyone did a really good job."
On how he felt when Wisconsin started on its own 9-yard line late in the game
"It is a good challenge for us. It is not the ideal field position. You knows guys can flinch and look around and think 'oh no this is going to be tough' but we took hold of the situation and I think attacked it well."
On his confidence in kicker Rafael Gaglianone
"He is not going to miss two of them. They were both off to the right. He has plenty of length for a 39 or a 45 (yarder). It is like a golfer, if they hit their putt once and they miss it, they definatly will make it the second time because they know the line. I just had a lot of confidence he was going to make it."
On the team making some misakes and not letting that affect them
"You know that's part of the game. I have a lot of confidence in my guys and they have a lot of confidence in themselves so as long as they dont let that waiver, I think we are good. Drops are going to happen, missed throws are going to happen but I feel our guys did a great job coming back."
On what he saw of Nebraska
"I think they are a very athletic group, so they didn't make it easy on us. They did a good job making plays and they weren't giving us anything."
