Huskers in Fourth Heading into Final Round

Benton Harbor, Mich. - The Nebraska men’s golf team is in fourth place at the Fossum Memorial after the first two rounds. NU posted a pair of 299s at Point O’ Woods Golf Club.

Leading the Big Red on Monday were juniors Justin Jennings, Mike Colgate and freshman Sean Song. Each are tied for 13th at 148 strokes heading into Tuesday’s final round. Jennings fired a pair of 74s and also tied for first for most pars carded with 29 in the first two rounds of the competition. Colgate posted 75 before firing 73 in the second round. Song also carded a pair of 74s and leads NU in birdies made with four.

Jace Guthmiller is in 18th place at 154 strokes after carding 76 and 78 in the first two rounds. The Yankton, S.D. native fired three birdies on Monday to help him finish the day at 10-over. Joel Sneed is in 24th place after rounds of 81 and 85.

Michigan State leads the team competition after shooting 279 and 275. The Huskers close out the Fossum Memorial on Tuesday with 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
