Nebraska junior libero Justine Wong-Orantes has been named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Wong-Orantes helped lead the fourth-ranked Huskers to a 3-2 comeback win over No. 1 Penn State on Friday with a career-high 30 digs.
A native of Cypress, Calif., Wong-Orantes totaled 41 digs on the weekend, averaging 4.1 digs per set.
It's the first career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award for Wong-Orantes, and the second for the Huskers this season (Kadie Rolfzen, Sept. 21, 2015).
