Lincoln - Coach Mike Riley and the Huskers met with the media on Monday at Memorial Stadium to discuss the Nebraska football team's upcoming Big Ten home opener against Wisconsin on Saturday.
The Huskers (2-3, 0-1 Big Ten) will try to rebound from a 14-13 setback at Illinois on Saturday. The Badgers (3-2, 0-1 Big Ten) also will be looking to bounce back after dropping a 10-6 decision in Madison on Saturday.
Riley and Wisconsin Coach Paul Chryst, who are both in their first seasons at their respective schools, have a long history together as coaches. Chryst was an assistant under Riley for the first time with the San Antonio Riders of the World League of American Football in 1991 and 1992. Chryst also served as an assistant under Riley for a pair of two-year stints at Oregon State, first in 1997 and 1998 and again in 2003 and 2004.
The game, which is being televised live nationally by ABC/ESPN2, will provide one of the coaches with the first Big Ten Conference victory of their careers.
