The Huskers will close non-conference action this Saturday by taking on Southern Miss in the annual Homecoming game, which kicks off a 11 a.m. with live television coverage by ESPNEWS.
Nebraska is coming off a 36-33 overtime loss at Miami on Saturday. The Huskers, 1-2, rallied from a 33-10 deficit with under 10 minutes left to tie the game at 33 with 23 unanswered points. Junior quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. accounted for 204 yards of total offense in the fourth quarter to rally the Huskers, including 184 passing yards. He finished the day with 309 yards passing and 358 yards of total offense. He threw three touchdown passes and a pair of two-point conversion passes during the late Husker surge.
Southern Miss comes to Lincoln with a 2-1 record after opening the season with a loss to Mississippi State before notching wins over Austin Peay and Texas State. The Golden Eagles are averaging 513 yards per game in total offense.
